Wonder Woman sketch

here's a sketch of Wonder Woman i did quite a while back. I'm actually a big Wonder Woman fan, just the comics and cartoon though, the live action stuff leaves a lot to be desired. I'm terrible at drawing women, i always have been. this sketch took me about 30 mins and i think its better than most of my female sketches. I did one similar with my Captain Marvel picture a few months back. the original sketch was horrifying, but i cleaned it up a lot in photoshop. i may do the same with this one.

Jedi mind trick-or-treat

I knew Halloween was coming up and i wanted to make a fun Halloween pic. i know, its a lame description of the creative process. I did this one from sketch to finish in about 3 hours. Sometimes my brain gets really pumped when i get a fun idea.

Doctor When and Sometimes

Dr Dre's the Chronic is one of my all time favorite albums, and Doctor Who is one of my all time favorite ...guys who travels in space and time. So i mixed them together. I made one for the 9th, 10th and 11th Doctors. If they're popular i might make all 11 Doctors.

Kid Apocalypse

i've been following both Wolverine and the X-Men and Uncanny X-Force since day one, and one of my favorite characters to come out of those books is Genesis. Also known as Kid Apocalypse since he's a clone of Apocalypse reborn.

i drew a bunch of stuff!

As the title implies, i drew a bunch of stuff. Just not today, i haven't updated my site since like June, but i have been drawing. So i'll post a few things here, like this Ultimate Spider-Man tribute pic i did. its based on a picture that Sean Galloway (one of the guys behind the sadly short lived Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon) did. I updated it with the new Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales, because i love that book and he's a great character so far. Enjoy.

Updates and ugly mugs

So i forgot i have a blog. I do that from time to time. Anyway, let me fill you in since last time i posted anything.

On May 19th i competed in Super Art Fight Idol! ...i didn't win. But, i made it to the semi-finals (surprising even myself)! That might not sound like much to most people but i suffer from S.A.D. and my medication doesn't do much, so for me to get on a stage in front of a hundred people and draw without passing out or vomiting is kind of a big deal. Anyway, now its back to drawing alone at home or small groups, which is more my style. Super Art Fight is amazing but my anxiety doesn't really make for a great live art performer, much respect to the folks who do it for my entertainment and make it look easy.

Moving along, I picked up a new iPad and a Cosmonaut stylus, its really heavy and handles like a big rubber crayon. I really dig it, most iPad styluses are very small and flimsy with a really wide tip, i have big hands so the Cosmonaut works great for me. To test it out i decided to do a semi-photo realistic picture of myself drawn on the iPad. I think it came out pretty awesome and i look forward to doing more work on the iPad in the future.

Did you play Darksiders? Its awesome and you should. Anyway, Darksiders 2 comes out in a few months and i decided to do a quick sketch of the new protagonist, Death of the Four Horsemen. I'm really excited to play. 

I guess i'm really making good on that "Sometimes" clause i put in there. Sorry, its been a busy couple of months. Anyway some news, i mention Super Art Fight quite a bit on this blog because i enjoy they're shows. Well back in April they announced they were doing another Super Art Fight Idol, its like American Idol only without all the idiots and jerk judges. Well guess what, i entered and got accepted!

The event is in 2 days, this Saturday at the Metro Art Gallery in Baltimore, MD. I know you all want to come (all 4 of you that read this site), but if you're not in the MD/DC/VA area you can watch the event online through a live stream at Super Art Fight's website. Its benefiting the Ulman Cancer Fund, so pony up some donations for sick folks too.

In the mean time, here's a picture i made for Project Rooftop's Fan Art Friday. The subject was fan art of Marvel's new Captain Marvel, previously Ms Marvel. She got a promotion finally.

Not sure how Daft Punk came out of my hand tonight, i was watching Tron on cable and i guess the score stuck with me while i was doodling random shapes. Cant go wrong with Daft Punk.

I watch a good deal of tv and I love Parks and Recreation, there are soo many great characters on that show. The one that always sticks out the most of course, is Ron Fucking Swanson. He's soo awesome that Adam WarRock made a song about him and his exploits of manliness.

Like i said, i draw...sometimes. I actually mean to do more but i just moved this past weekend so I'm still unpacking. More doodles from my sketchbook, this time its Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales. I'm a big fan of the new book and I hope this guy gets to stay Spider-Man for a long time.

Again, LOTS of comics. This crazy haired teen is Kid Gladiator from the new comic Wolverine and the X-Men, its become one of my new favorite ongoing comics.

I read a LOT of comic books, so if i draw something from it then i probably really liked it. I picked up Destroyer at the suggestion of Steve the local comic guru at Third Eye Comics. The concept of a super powered senior citizen with zero tolerance for crime made me smile.

This is just a quick sketch of one of my favorite musicians Adam WarRock. I saw him live a few months back at Super Art Fight and he was amazing. This sketch is based on one of the pictures i took while he was performing.

So i draw stuff, sometimes. Tonight i drew Hellboy while watching a movie, this is usually when i draw because i have a pretty hectic day job. I also blog, sometimes. Again, with the day job its never on a schedule so i decided to start up a free blog to share my terrible art and my terrible point of view, sometimes. My art style is random and usually not very original, but i do it for fun so try to be nice. Enjoy.
